Hangkai Outboard's Limited Warranty.

Hangkai New Zealand warrants its new outboards to be free of defects in material and workmanship during the period of 2 years (24 months). The benefits to the consumer given by the warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies of the consumer under a law in relation to the goods or services to which the warranty relates.

Warranty Period for Recreational Use. The warranty period begins on the date the product is first sold to a recreational-use retail purchaser/customer or the date on which the product is first put into service/use, whichever may occur first. The repair or replacement of parts or the performance of service under this warranty does not extend the life of this limited warranty beyond its original expiration date from purchase.

The Conditions That Must Be Met in Order to Obtain Warranty Coverage. Warranty coverage under our Warranty is available only to retail customers that either purchase from Hangkai New Zealand direct or one of our authorised agents listed on our website, once the proper registration information has been completed with the dealer authorized by Hangkai New Zealand after sale has occurred, the pre-delivery inspection process is completed and documented. The warranty coverage then becomes available upon proper registration of the product by the authorized dealer. Inaccurate warranty registration information regarding recreational use or subsequent change of use from recreational to commercial may void the warranty at the sole discretion of Hangkai New Zealand. Routine service maintenance must be performed according to the maintenance schedule below so to obtain warranty coverage. Hangkai New Zealand reserves the right to make any warranty coverage contingent upon proof of proper maintenance/service by our authorised dealer/agents. For coverage under the warranty your outboard is required to be regularly serviced by Hangkai New Zealand or one of its authorised service dealers/agents, regular servicing will not only prolong the life of your outboard for many years but will also guarantee you have a reliable engine when you need it. all new engines shall undergo during the warranty period a 10 hour service, 12 and 20 month service.

This limited warranty covers manufacturing defects only. Please note that this does not include consumable items such as Spark plugs, fuel filters, etc. The liability of Hangkai New Zealand (or its appointed dealer/service agents) is limited to the cost of repair and/or replacement of the product under warranty. The warranty is invalidated if the defect is caused (howsoever) by misuse, neglect, and tampering or incorrect adjustment. It is invalidated if unauthorized persons carry out any alterations and/or repairs. This limited warranty does not cover electrical system corrosion; corrosion resulting from damage, corrosion which causes purely cosmetic damage, abuse or improper service; corrosion to accessories, instruments. Use of incorrect fuel mixture, in proper flushing of engine after saltwater use causing corrosion. Corrosion is an unpleasant fact in the marine environment. While saltwater is particularly harsh, even operation in fresh water environments can cause corrosion. Stray electrical currents in the water around docks can increase the risk of corrosion. For that reason, Hangkai New Zealand's limited warranty does not cover corrosion.

The customer must provide Hangkai with a reasonable opportunity to repair, and reasonable access to the product for warranty service. Warranty claims shall be made by delivering the product for inspection to a Hangkai New Zealand dealer/agent authorized to service the product. If purchaser cannot deliver the product to such a dealer, written notice must be given to Hangkai's authorised agent. Who will then arrange for the inspection and any covered repair. The Purchaser in that case shall pay for all related transportation charges and/or travel time. Or if a courier can be arranged to collect the product the purchaser will cover this cost of pickup and redelivery. If the service provided is not covered by this warranty, purchaser shall pay for all related labor and material, and any other expenses associated with that service. Purchaser shall not, unless requested by Hangkai, ship the product or parts of the product directly to Hangkai New Zealand. Proof of purchase through one of our approved dealer/agents as listed on our website. Registered ownership must be presented to the dealer at the time the warranty service is requested in order to obtain warranty coverage.

What Is Not Covered This limited warranty does not cover the following: • Routine maintenance items • Adjustments • Normal wear and tear • Damage caused by abuse • Abnormal use • Operating the boat with the engine over trimmed • Use of a propeller or gear ratio that does not allow the engine to run in its recommended RPM range • Neglect • Accident • Submersion • Improper installation (proper installation specifications and techniques are set forth in the installation instructions for the product) • Improper service • Use of an accessory or part that damages the Hangkai product • impellers and liners • Operation with fuels, oils, or lubricants that are not suitable for use with the product • Alteration or removal of parts • Pull starts or cord units, springs etc • Water entering the engine through the fuel intake, air intake, or exhaust system or damage to the product from insufficient cooling water caused by blockage of the cooling system by a foreign body • Running the engine out of water • Mounting the engine too high on the transom.
